  1. A person who have been 'promoted' to the post of Professor post in Chemistry was not having minimum eligibility in terms of service etc.. as was prescribed in the NITC advt for March 2010 recruitment( I challenge him to prove otherwise...anyway there will a 'pothuthalparya harji' be filed in the Hon.HC of Kerala within weeks requesting Hon court to intervene and direct NITC Registrar to file an affidavit on last recruitment...just for agnishuddhi...don't get panic..that is all). The screening committee rejected his application and still he could 'manage' to get an interview call(let us wait...he will be revealing that trick in the courtroom...we can also adapt in future!) ...shesham kazhchayil......ellam eeswara kripa...shiva ..shivaaaaa
Ippol kittathavan...shiva..shiva.. karanjukondu nadakkunnu.....nammal kuzhicha kuzhiyil nammal thanne veenidum....(..pazhaya new associate professorpara...yeethu? ippo pudikittiyo???) please remember...eee Gopalakshinanil ninnum Kailasanathanilekku valiya dooram illa...ee campusil.

  3. Can some of these newly recruits who got seven or more increments as special favour put on the Institute website what are their 'special' achievements ? At least their qualifications with specialization and publications , if they have any, can be displayed?

  4. It will be interesting to know how many of these newly recruited satisfy the eligibility requirements for the posts they are appointed. As per the notification and AICTE norms, only a person with a First Class Engineering Degree & Masters Degree in Engg can become a member of faculty in an Engineering Department in NIT. Some newly recruits do not satisfy these requirements. In NIT Kurukshetra, appointments of 65 new faculty members are under review. If such a review is made in NITC many heads will reel!!!!
PS: It is understandable that a Director who has not got the qualifications to be head of technical institution feel sympathy for others who are less qualified like him!!!

  5. Nowadays, it is fashionable to advertise for posts with a rider that along with those who apply, nominations of 'eminent' persons by 'eminent' persons also will be considered!!! Yet another method is to form a 'Search Committee' to find 'suitable' and 'eminent' candidates for the post. When GRCR found that by the normal screening, he cannot get his preferred persons in, he appointed a Search Committee of his coterie of YES men (and women?) to recommend 'suitable' candidates.
Many candidates who had just sent a personal email (without attaching relevant documents) have been interviewed(teleconference mode) and selected!!!! This is recruitment GRCR style. Some one asked for details under RTI.Probably his henchmen (and women) must have 'cooked' up something as well as some of them are very good cooks as proclaimed by GRCR.

  6. GRCR Regime - special
On different occasions he had Madames who were his lieutenants. First Madame was thrown away when she could not do what he wanted (funds transfer from some source for paying the contractor). Her arch enemy became the Second Madame. The second Madame somehow could hold on till he packed up.
Academic Dean will be promoted as Dean(P&D) on request if he is ready to do what GRCR wants. For favours received, he can even become in charge.
Usual term of BoG members from faculty is one year, but if GRCR pleases, they can be life members of BoG.
He tried to make pay scales for CAS and direct recruited Professors same in all NITs, as he himself was a CAS professor? But failed to convince MHRD
HoDs nominated as he pleases.HoDs can hold any number of additional posts including that of Registrar!!
Mementos worth 10 to 20k for all VIPS visiting NITC,and accompanying Chairman every time. It can be gold or diamond studded bangles if they are ladies!!! That too to a gemmologist lady!!!
    more later

  7. Some "funny observations" from the table showing the pay of new recruits:

    1. Only Dr. N. Prakash and Dr. Preeti Navaneeth have been given advance increments as per rules. Does'nt this mean that others have been granted advance increments "against the rules"?

  8. Promotions galore!!!
Another great thing GRCR has done in the very first faculty recruitment 'mela' was to promote any one who applied for the post of Professor who were in his good books or recommended by his coterie. Many who never dreamt of becoming a Professor in the rest of their career in NITC became Professors under the category of CAS. It is heard that one candidate did not appear for the interview and was having his afternoon sleep (as he had nothing to show except the degrees he got)when a messenger went and brought him for interview. The interviewers were asked to wait for him. The CAS promotions were introduced to promote really meritorious candidates who could not get promotion for want of cadre posts. This normally imply that CAS promotions are difficult to get than direct selection. While the number of international journal papers published by candidates for cadre posts were fixed as 4-5, there was no such minimum for those promoted under CAS.
While faculty recruitment is done, it is usual practice for the Heads of Departments to suggest a panel of names of experts for each subject of specialization of interest to the Department. However GRCR thought it was his OWN prerogative to decide who the experts will be on the panel. The panel was handpicked by him including subject experts in Engg and all . There was a permanent member in these panels, an elderly man 70+ (former teacher of CRCR?)who never opened his mouth except for refreshments (like some of our BoG members) and was sleeping most of the time.
That is faculty recruitment GRCR style. How is that !!!!

  9. Respected Facultys and Non faculty people,

First I thanks for the valuable comments and the faculty recruitment sources posted by these blog, and I wish your attention to the period of Mr. MPC, you know peoples of NIT community one non teaching staff posted by the Great Principal Dr. UKP on 31/5/1991 as PA to Principal post, Dr. UKPs era ended after that MPC era started and the RECs "SANIDASHA" also started that period most of the irregularities and favouritism are played in those periods and continued...... it very well with the help of Mr PA to Principal, he designated and Redesignated in various positions, and even Great Faculty and non faculty peoples are Respected to him, because he was conducted BOG meeting and related policy matters. Now we are know about the TRICKS of Great BOG Meetings of NITs and RECs, Thanks a Lot to the Great GRC Sir, Irregularities and corruptions are not a new one but now it is in the highest mood. OK the Past PA is acting as DR Academic, continued...... Siva.. Siva... Siveneaaaa

  10. It is well known that the CREC/NITC BoG meetings are big jokes for spending money on food drinks and traveling and has never done anything to the staff or students. It is said in CREC time, if you want something to be given to yours foolishly, give it and get it ratified by BoG. If you don't want to give, put it in the BoG and say No later as BoG decision. As many other Principals/ Directors, GRCR also used the BoG to his advantage. Our permanent BoG members know that too well.

  11. Another sad state is that none of the nonteaching staff could get anything from GRCR except a few promotions done under pressure in the last few months and of course the promotion of DR to R which misfired for the time being. For a long time, what is heard was restructuring committee. Several trips were made by DRs to Delhi and back and nothing happened. The office staff position was as it was ten years back. No fresh appointments made even against retirement vacancies.Exception was a few under special category who are good for nothing.Almost all work is done by trainees or daily wages staff.Consequently academic, accounts and establishment work was very much affected with lot of delay. How many mark lists and grade cards were issued without proper verification!! God alone knows!! How many bills and advances not settled due to delay. Now they don't even sanction advances to the ordinary people due the audit objection. Many labs have skeleton staff only. A proper stock verification will reveal what all things are left in the labs. LCDs projectors worth 3 lakhs were stolen in front of the security staff. Who is bothered about laks when crores go down the drain? DR(SP) can purchase more as money is available in plenty and get the benefits!!! Mismanagement, misappropriation and misuse is rampant in all areas. It is free for all in NITC !!!!!!!!!!!

  12. MPC took charge Principal REC and declared the most famous word "TRANSPARENCY" in all his decisions but nothing do it, first he discharge the dutys of REGISTRAR Sri.Sreenivasa Pai(The only man know about the Service Rules of State and Central) PA become full charge of administrative matters and MPC posted Registrar REC as YES SIR peoples and after that the position continued till now. PA became all in all in administrative matters, and many irrigularities and violation of rules done in that period.(Pls. refer the Minutes of BOG mettings of MPCs period. Pls. NTSO peoples and TKSB Sir and Vineeth Sir)GRCR the only man who transferred the DR ADMN to DR.Academic, the only good thing he do in his Directors period. Contd...

  13. In fact, it was in MPC's time this nonsense of doing whatever he thought throwing away all rules and regulations started. He put Sri.Pai in a corner giving him nothing to do as he was not justifying what MPC wanted. In fact Sri Pai was the only Registrar who said that this nonsense cannot continue. Before him and after him, there are Registrars (or in charges Registrars) who will do whatever the boss asks "YES SIR ". How many know why former Registrar I/C resigned ? To satisfy one of his lieutenants wish, GRCR wanted Registrar to interview a B Tech for ad hoc lecturers post when the advertisement was for an M Tech. The candidate who had returned without interview was called back on mobile and was appointed. None of the other members of committee objected to this. He resigned and another "YES, SIR" took over.Happy ending !!!!

  15. I hubly request to our HRD Minister and I most respected Minister in the present Ministry, Sir Please cancell the Autonomy power of NITs, because Autonomy given Licence to make corruptions in all areas.

In NITC the Registrar post is vaccant number of notifications and interviews are conducted nobodys are posted till now. Anybodys are know about the 'GUTTANCE' about it. And one of my request to the Present Director is that to transfer all non teaching persons in the Admin. sections including DRs and some in charge positions also( maximum 2 years in a seat} otherwise corruptions and suspensions will grow. And make arrangements to post an Administrative officer like UKPs period JAVAD HUSSAIN who was an intellegent and efficient Officer in the RECs period.Contd....

  16. Many new ideas and information pieces are reveales this blog good, In GRC Reddys period some promotions are allowed under pressure. What is the criteria or eligibility for a person to promote a post? Is it pressure? or qualification experience, seniority.

MPCs period many promotions and selections are made by these norms,(pressure etc. etc.) that time Chairman REC also like MPC P.J Joseph(The Famous HORN ADI VEERAN at Air}Coontd....

  17. Some "funny observations" from the table showing the pay of new recruits: (continued):

    2. Sl. Nos. 11 & 12 have been awarded one increment each, where as sl. Nos. 1-10 were not given any increments. All of them have PG degree and are eligible for 2 advance increments. None of you will dare to ask, because you are on contract and your contract may be terminated any time without citing a reason as per the appointment letter.

    3. Sl. Nos. 13 to 17 have been offered 7 advance increments on completion of Ph.D. Seems to be fine since if somebody joins with PhD, he is eligible for 7 advance increments as per rules. But wait!! In the appointment letters, it is mentioned that after PhD, their service during contract period will be regularised. What does that mean? They have completed PhD while in service. Then as per rules how many increments they are eligible for? Only 3, like any other useless guy who did PhD under QIP.

    4. Sl. Nos. 18 to 20 have been offered AGP of 7000 + 7 increments on completion of PhD. Definitely their PhD degree is better than the degree sl. Nos. 13 to 17 are going to receive. In fact they are confused whether the 7 increments will be in terms of AGP 6000 or AGP 7000!!!

  18. In NITC matters including recruitments and tenders are almost funny and corruptions, MHRD directs the right way but NITC Administration continued the wrong way, and it ratified in the BOG very secretly, it knows some Non Teaching staffs of CSE Dept. The same Persons are Struggle about corruptions of GRCR, it is also a funny....In NITC 3rd form qualification holder earn 20 thousands in monthly salary, at the same time a PG holder having PB 1 with GP 1800 it also funny.... it is a real thing ...
